"Are artists fleeing Fort Greene? Well, that may be an exaggeration, but following recent news that David Salle was selling his $10 million mansion in the picturesque Brooklyn nabe, The Real Deal reports that artist Lorna Simpson and her photographer husband James Casebere have put their home at 206 Vanderbilt Avenue (pictured) on the market for $3.13 million, a handsome markup from the $1.65 million they paid for it in 2007.

The two-family townhouse boasts two 950-square foot units, according to a StreetEasy listing, along with a 1,250-square-foot shared rooftop balcony (above) and a vast, 2,300-square foot, white-walled English basement that looks like the perfect studio to us. Records show that the couple attempted to rent out the unit they weren’t occupying several times over the last three years, but without ever finding a tenant — possibly due to the monthly rents of between $3,000 and $3,875 that they asked.

Though your chance to be Simpson and Casebere’s neighbor seems to have passed, the block still has some serious appeal, including the David Adjaye-designed home directly next-door, and the fast-rising St. Joseph’s College gym going up two doors down." (bron: BLOUINARTINFO en StreetEasy)
