Blaise Drummond

Blaise Drummond in his studio.

"Deep in Ireland, where the peat streams beat a silver path through undulating pasture and reeds run ragged along the valleys beyond the old stone walls, there is a low white house. Straight out of an illustrated childrens’ book, it has a patchwork vegetable garden, a paddock with a pond and a tree house, a hen coop and hills stretching west. Two strides behind the longhouse, a lower singlestorey studio, also neat and clean, clad in glass and whitewash, houses the workplace of Blaise Drummond, painter, printmaker and creator, with his wife, Siabhra, of this idyll, where they are raising four young children.
....
‘A studio is like a potting shed,’ he says. ‘It’s a space that accumulates and houses the things that come in at the corners of the mind.’ His is full of books, canvasses and filing cabinets where he archives material and inspiration." (bron: Sims Reed Gallery)
